The [last] Rise and Rule mod for Civ3
The Rise and Rule mod (RAR) is based on our experiences with the Double Your Pleasure mod for Civilization III and the expansion pack Play The World.
Rise and Rule is only released for the latest (and last) Civ3 expansion pack Conquests. The simple design philosophy behind the mod is that variety is the spice of life and an essential part of strategy. If there's only one path to success, there really isn't much strategy involved.
We've tried to beef up the selection of improvements, wonders, units etc., hoping to give you more to choose between. Don't think you'll be able to build everything everywhere. We have tried hard to make that option the certain road to failure. A wise ruler will weigh cost vs. benefit in every single decision made.
The nitty-gritty cold facts
200 techs
13 governments
100 Improvements
67 Great Wonders
36 Small Wonders
14 Specialist Citizen types
52 Resources
340 Units (including flavor units)
lots of changes and improvements over the Double Your Pleasure mod.
New: See what's in store for you, in the terrific 'data file' created by our own Matt_G, in this thread

Full version 1.02 - hosted by Civfanatics (120 MB)
For additional download mirrors or smaller updates, visit the download page on DyP's website.
Important: To be able to play RaR, you need the unit animation folders "World War II" and "Medieval Japan". These folders were part of the PtW addon, but are not included in C3C. However, the files are available to download individually here.
Or alternatively, just get the 'Extras Patch' containing only the units used in the RAR mod.
.. and enjoy.

Wow, it's finally finished!
I'll be sure to try it out once it's uploaded,
but how did you manage such a small file size with all those units, and other graphics -
Thanks.

I think we all owe everybody who worked on this a huge THANK YOU!! I think you gusy should put a counter up to see how many people download it.
-
Well now that it is here - enjoy it guys and gals.
Let us know what you think of the mod.
There are still some things that need to be worked on - i.e. the Civilopedia. (Isak added a lot of changes after my last major update.)
Do let us know of any gameplay problems, unit balancing, Civilopedia inaccurracies etc. if you want to. But above all enjoy the R&R mod.
We have been working on it - design, implementation. play testing. etc. etc. for over a year. So new and fresh input is welcome.
Download and enjoy R&R.

Ok, first downloading didn't work..said "unexpected end of archive"and download was 107mb rather than 115...am downloading again, but expect the same as my download show "....out of 107mb downloaded"

Isak - You'll have to ask TF for that. AFAIK, I can't set that up for you.
Good work, guys. -
@Turner_727:
Thanks
And I emailed the big TF yesterday, and I hope that he replies soon. Though at the moment the server does seem to cope with the pressure. I confess I don't even know what kind of connection the honorable mr. Bernskov has hooked the server to. -
